This offer includes a modified, compatible replacement solar panel for VELUX SSL solar roller shutters in the V21 series with the previous 10.8 V NiMH drive system. The panel is prepared for V21 applications and comes with an original VELUX connector.
Replacement for the previous VELUX SSL solar panel
As the existing panel ages, its charging output may decrease even if there is no visible damage. As a result, the battery is no longer fully charged and the solar roller shutter may operate only partially or unreliably.

Compatibility
Suitable for appropriately equipped VELUX SSL V21 solar roller shutters with a 10.8 V NiMH battery system, compatible connector and the existing solar charging circuit in the approx. 20 V class. Depending on their technical design, older V21 motor generations may also be suitable.
Important: The V21 series was produced over an extended period in different technical versions. The year of manufacture or V21 designation alone is therefore insufficient for reliable identification.
For example, some older V21 motors use a 10.8 V NiMH battery pack and comparable solar technology, but have a differently designed internal DC motor controlled via two wires, with direction reversal by polarity reversal. Such differences do not automatically rule out using this panel.
The decisive factors are the battery and solar technology, connector, electrical design and mechanical installation.
Check compatibility before purchase
For older V21 systems or versions that cannot be clearly identified, please send photos in advance of:
- Nameplate on the lower roller shutter slat
- Motor unit label/identification plate
- Existing solar panel
- Connector and plug connections
- Installation and panel mounting
Not suitable for
- Latest VELUX motor platforms with a short black 4.5 V solar panel
- Current motor/battery units with a different voltage system
- Systems converted to different motor, battery or solar technology
- Incompatible connections or installation configurations
Important: The newer 4.5 V system generation is not currently covered by this offer.
Sustainability through targeted replacement
If only the solar panel is weakened or faulty, the entire motor does not need to be replaced. The motor, electronics and existing radio technology can continue to be used. As the motor and radio electronics remain in place when the panel is replaced, existing radio pairings are normally preserved too.

Is S22 the same as V22?
VELUX officially uses the designation ZOZ 221 S22 for the replacement kit. In the spare parts trade and in searches, the same generation is often also called V22. Both terms are therefore used on this website.How do I recognize a suitable roller shutter?
The identification plate often includes designations such as SSL, SSL-K or SSL-S as well as suffixes such as 0000S, 0100S or 0700S. Before ordering, compatibility should be confirmed using a photo.Does the roller shutter have to be retrained after a repair?
If the existing radio and control electronics are retained, re-pairing is often unnecessary. When the complete motor and electronics unit is replaced, the new motor normally needs to be paired with the remote control or the existing smart home system.Why are the battery and solar panel tested together?
A weakened solar panel cannot adequately charge a new battery. Simply replacing the battery would not eliminate the actual error. That's why it always makes sense to check the solar panel if there is a recurring deep discharge or a short running time.Are these original VELUX spare parts?
