Data protection is also a top priority. You should have full control over your smart home. That's why I recommend solutions in which all data stays in-house and is not accessible via external cloud servers. So you can be sure that your privacy is protected.
THE IMPORTANCE OF THE CONTROL CENTER
The control center is the heart of your entire smart home system. Only through intelligent automation can a home become truly “smart”. That's why it's not enough if you can control individual devices via app or remote control.
My solutions rely on a comprehensive control center that communicates seamlessly with all components. I carefully select the right headquarters to ensure smooth integration and future expansions. I make sure that the control center can also be expanded in the future via standard interfaces and that new standards can be supported in the future, such as the recently introduced “Matter”.
Why do I attach such extreme importance to this? Well, take the useful life of your smartphone or PC and compare it to the useful life of your property. The control center of all smart home systems, including those of the large “one-stop manufacturers”, consist of a small computer that becomes outdated just as quickly as your smartphone. The necessary computing power of the control center will increase rapidly in the future, which inevitably means that the hardware will have to be replaced at some point if you want to use a new smart home product in the future that does not yet exist. As a control center, I therefore use a commercially available PC architecture with open-source software, which can be replaced with new hardware at a later date. You don't have to worry about whether this individual hardware still exists; the control center software is compatible with almost all PC architectures. The software stays with you at all times and can also be maintained by you if necessary. Of course I'm here to help you if you have any questions.
DATA PROTECTION FOR YOUR SMART HOME
Security and data protection are my top priority. Nobody wants strangers to have access to their own smart home system. I therefore attach great importance to ensuring that your data is protected and is not transmitted over insecure cloud connections.
Your smart home data remains in your home and is only accessible from outside via a secure VPN connection. This means you can control your smart home at any time without compromising on privacy.
If it is still necessary to decide on cloud connections to other smart home systems, for example because you already have them, we will find a solution that reduces external data to a minimum.
I'm always shocked at how carelessly people treat things here. A customer asked me whether his existing smart home system from different providers, which communicate with each other via nested cloud connections, was secure? The answer was no, however let us now get the data back into your house!
