THE IMPORTANCE OF THE CONTROL CENTER
The control center is the heart of your entire smart home system. Only through intelligent automation does a home truly become "smart." Therefore, it's not enough to simply control individual devices via app or remote control.
My solutions rely on a comprehensive control center that communicates seamlessly with all components. I carefully select the appropriate control center to ensure smooth integration and future expansion. I also make sure that the control center can be expanded via standard interfaces in the future, thus enabling support for new standards, such as the recently introduced "Matter".
Why do I place such extreme importance on this? Well, consider the lifespan of your smartphone or PC and compare it to the lifespan of your property. The control center of all smart home systems, even those from the major "one-stop-shop" manufacturers, consists of a small computer that becomes obsolete just as quickly as your smartphone. The required computing power of the control center will increase rapidly in the future, inevitably meaning that the hardware will eventually need to be replaced if you want to use a new smart home product that doesn't yet exist. Therefore, I use a standard PC architecture with open-source software as the control center, which can be replaced with new hardware at a later date. You don't need to worry about whether this specific hardware will still be available; the control center software is compatible with virtually all PC architectures. The software remains in your home at all times and can be maintained by you if necessary. Of course, I am available to answer any questions you may have.
DATA PROTECTION FOR YOUR SMART HOME
Security and data protection are my top priorities. Nobody wants strangers accessing their smart home system. Therefore, I place great importance on ensuring that your data is protected and not transmitted via insecure cloud connections.
Your smart home data stays within your home and is only accessible from the outside via a secure VPN connection. This allows you to control your smart home at any time without compromising your privacy.
If it is nevertheless necessary to decide on cloud connections to other smart home systems, for example because you already have them, we will find a solution that reduces external data to a minimum.
I'm constantly shocked by how carelessly things are handled here. A customer asked me if his existing smart home system, comprised of various providers communicating via nested cloud connections, was secure. The answer was no, but let's get the data back into your home now!
