 With this offer you will receive one fully tested second-life drive for VELUX SSL solar roller shutters of the series S22/V22. An original, used VELUX motor and electronics unit from the previous 10.8 V system generation is used. The drive is tested, reconditioned and equipped with a new 10.8 V NiMH battery pack and a new modified, compatible solar panel with original connection.
 
 
 
Alternative to repair or complete conversion
 This second-life complete set is an economical alternative to repairing the existing drive and completely switching to the current VELUX replacement system.
 The existing defective drive is not repaired, but rather replaced with a tested original replacement drive unit. This makes this offer particularly suitable if the existing motor, battery, solar panel or electronics can no longer be repaired economically.

Not part of this offer is an io-homecontrol remote control. The customer must have an existing remote control, VELUX control or smart home control center and, if necessary, reconnect it to the drive after installation.
 
 
 
Why Second Life?
 The motors of the previous 10.8 V system class are designed for long-term operation. In many failures, individual energy supply components such as the battery or solar panel are weakened, while the mechanical motor unit can generally still be used.
 Instead of disposing of a technically functional original motor platform, it is tested, reconditioned and reused with new wear components.

Teaching required after installation
 Since this involves different radio and control electronics than the unit previously installed in the roller shutter, the second-life drive usually has to be reconnected to the remote control or the existing smart home system after installation.
 This affects, for example, existing integrations into VELUX ACTIVE, VELUX Touch, VELUX App Control, Somfy TaHoma or other io-homecontrol systems.

Differentiation from the current VELUX ZOZ 221 S22
 VELUX offers a current complete set consisting of a motor/battery unit and solar panel for this series. This works with a modified motor platform and a shorter 4.5V solar panel.
 This second-life offer, on the other hand, maintains the previous 10.8 V system generation and uses a modified, compatible solar panel with a suitable connection for the existing system structure.
