The intelligent Somfy radio motor

The Oximo radio series from Somfy – available as RTS and io versions – are among the most advanced tubular motors for roller shutters. They combine precise electronic end-limit technology with convenient radio control, either via handheld transmitter or integrated into the Smart Home central unit.

The integrated obstacle and frost detection reliably protects both shutter and motor, while the torque regulation ensures smooth start-up and stopping. The bidirectional communication of the io series allows the motor to send status feedback to the control unit – ideal for networked systems.

All motors are tested in the specialist workshop for function, torque and end-limit storage. Every repaired motor is therefore fully checked and ready for use – “tested” in the best possible sense.

  • Order: Select the correct model and complete the order.
  • Shipping: Send the defective motor properly packaged (shipping costs borne by the buyer).
  • Repair: Professional repair within 1–2 working days.
  • Return shipping: Return shipping is possible at standard parcel rates if packaging is secure, compact and transport-safe. For bulky or insufficient packaging (e.g. tube cartons or oversized parcels), I reserve the right to charge additional return shipping costs.

 

Processing & shipping times

  • The motor will be repaired no later than the following working day after arrival.
  • Return shipping usually takes place within one additional working day.
  • Processing time may vary depending on platform and shipping method; exact details are provided upon ordering.

 

Important requirements

  • Repair only for selected Somfy models (see variant list).
  • No repair possible in case of total damage (e.g. water damage, burnt windings, defective gearbox or brake, surge damage).
  • The motor must not have been opened or tampered with.

 

Product safety and quality

All repairs are carried out according to the relevant safety standards and guarantee safe motor operation. Changes to the house installation may only be carried out by qualified electricians.

 

Service & extras

A loan cable for adjusting or resetting the motor is available upon request. Please contact me in advance.

 

Warranty

A statutory warranty of 2 years applies exclusively to the replaced components.

No warranty is provided for the entire motor or other components.

    Troubleshooting Promise for Tubular Motors

    Is your tubular motor no longer responding, only moving briefly, or making a typical "click" sound? Not every defect automatically means a total economic loss.

    In many cases, motors can be sent in directly and repaired. In the event of unclear or borderline fault symptoms, however, I recommend a telephone pre-assessment. This allows us to estimate in advance whether a repair appears realistic or whether a total loss may be present.

    After prior consultation, my Troubleshooting Promise applies: I carefully inspect the submitted tubular motor for repairability. If repair is not technically reasonable or economically viable, only the agreed troubleshooting flat rate of €35 plus any return shipping costs will be charged.

    In any case, you will receive a transparent professional assessment and can then decide yourself on the next steps.

    Frequently Asked Questions about Tubular Motor Diagnosis

    Do I need to call before every shipment? No. Many motors can be sent in directly. However, in the case of unclear or unusual fault symptoms, a telephone consultation is recommended.

    When does the Troubleshooting Promise apply? The promise applies after prior coordination if repairability is to be assessed.

    What happens in the event of a total loss? If repair is not reasonable, only the troubleshooting flat rate of €25 plus any return shipping costs will be charged.

    Reset tubular motor & set end positions – optional rental cable

    For resetting to factory settings or re-adjusting the end positions, many 230V tubular motors may require a setting cable – especially when the reset sequence must be triggered via the circuit breaker (fuse) and the motor is not within sight or hearing range. Many drives confirm the reset with a clicking sound or a brief motor movement. With a universally applicable setting & reset rental cable, commissioning or resetting can be carried out in a more controlled manner without having to switch repeatedly between the motor and the fuse box.
