The Somfy classic

A very quiet mechanical tubular motor with simple limit setting via push button. Ideal for roller shutters, roller doors, and special applications that rely on proven technology. This motor series stands for longevity and stability – perfect for professional repair using original components.

This repair applies to the following fault symptoms

  • Roller shutter lowers, but requires manual assistance to rise
  • Awnings extend normally but retract only with slight manual assistance
  • Roller door opens only partially or requires manual help to lift
  • Motor runs, hums, or responds with delay
  • Noticeable “click” noise when changing direction

Processing & shipping time

  • The motor is repaired no later than the next business day after arrival.
  • Return shipping generally takes place within one additional business day.
  • Processing time may vary depending on platform and shipping method; exact information is provided upon order.

 

Important requirements

  • Repair only for selected Somfy models (see variant list)

  • No repair possible in cases of total damage (e.g., water damage, burned windings, defective gearbox or brake)

  • Motor must not have been opened or tampered with

 

Product safety and quality

All repairs are carried out according to the relevant safety standards and guarantee flawless motor operation. Any modifications to the building’s electrical installation must be performed exclusively by qualified electricians.

A statutory warranty of 2 years applies exclusively to the installed replacement parts.

No warranty is provided for the entire motor or other components.

    Troubleshooting Promise for Tubular Motors

    Is your tubular motor no longer responding, only moving briefly, or making a typical "click" sound? Not every defect automatically means a total economic loss.

    In many cases, motors can be sent in directly and repaired. In the event of unclear or borderline fault symptoms, however, I recommend a telephone pre-assessment. This allows us to estimate in advance whether a repair appears realistic or whether a total loss may be present.

    After prior consultation, my Troubleshooting Promise applies: I carefully inspect the submitted tubular motor for repairability. If repair is not technically reasonable or economically viable, only the agreed troubleshooting flat rate of €35 plus any return shipping costs will be charged.

    In any case, you will receive a transparent professional assessment and can then decide yourself on the next steps.

    Frequently Asked Questions about Tubular Motor Diagnosis

    Do I need to call before every shipment? No. Many motors can be sent in directly. However, in the case of unclear or unusual fault symptoms, a telephone consultation is recommended.

    When does the Troubleshooting Promise apply? The promise applies after prior coordination if repairability is to be assessed.

    What happens in the event of a total loss? If repair is not reasonable, only the troubleshooting flat rate of €15 plus any return shipping costs will be charged.

    Reset tubular motor & set end positions – optional rental cable

    For resetting to factory settings or re-adjusting the end positions, many 230V tubular motors may require a setting cable – especially when the reset sequence must be triggered via the circuit breaker (fuse) and the motor is not within sight or hearing range. Many drives confirm the reset with a clicking sound or a brief motor movement. With a universally applicable setting & reset rental cable, commissioning or resetting can be carried out in a more controlled manner without having to switch repeatedly between the motor and the fuse box.     Über die Suche nach einer Reparatur für meinen Rollladen bin ich auf dieser Seite gelandet. Da das Problem nicht als Reparatur im Angebot stand, nahm ich Kontakt mit der Firma auf. Ich bekam sofort eine Rückmeldung und konnte das Problem gleich telefonisch mit dem Chef besprechen. (Das findet man ganz selten!) Er bot mir eine Lösung an und das Gespräch war sehr nett und er war auch nicht kurz angebunden und nahm sich Zeit für das Problem. Letztendlich lag der Fehler nur an einem durchgescheuerten Kabel (das Herr Reh schon vermutet hatte!) und somit konnte ich es selber reparieren. Wenn ich jetzt auch nicht den Reparaturservice in Anspruch genommen habe kann ich wirklich sagen hier wird ihnen geholfen!! Danke nochmal dafür und bei meiner nächsten Reparatur komme ich gerne hier wieder zurück!

    Fachkompetenz auf höchstem Niveau! Wegen eines defekten, 30 Jahre alten Somfy Rohrmotors wollte uns ein Handwerksbetrieb gleich eine neue Beschattungsanlage … Uneingeschränkte Empfehlung!
