Warema WMS RT RP RM tubular motor repair – specialist workshop for radio-controlled motors (EWFS & WMS) for roller shutters & awnings

Your Warema tubular motor says:

“I am the radio-controlled motor that provides shade and safety – precise, quiet, and reliable.”

“At Thomas Reh, my electronics were tested and my radio connection was recalibrated – ready for many more years of service under sun, wind, and weather.”

The proven Warema radio-controlled motor for awnings & roller shutters

The WMS, RT, RP, and RM radio-controlled motors from Warema are among the electronic tubular motors designed for roller shutter and awning systems. They use the established radio protocols EWFS and WMS, which ensure secure, bidirectional communication between transmitter, sensor, and motor.

With WMS, these motors can be seamlessly integrated into smart-home systems and conveniently controlled via hand transmitter, radio timer, or app. Automatic limit detection and smooth operation make them ideal for demanding residential and commercial applications.

Each motor is professionally inspected, tested for function, limit settings, and radio behavior – “tested” for its next deployment.

Advantages compared to buying new

  • Sustainable: Environmentally friendly repair instead of replacement – proven radio technology remains in service.
  • Cost-efficient: Repair is more economical than purchasing a new unit; no new installation required.
  • No re-pairing required: Existing hand transmitters, sensors, or WMS central units remain connected, provided no factory reset was necessary.
  • Reliable: Electronics are tested and radio range is verified when an existing transmitter is included.
  • Compatible: Supports both EWFS and WMS systems, ideal for retrofit and mixed installations.
  • Tested: Each motor is tested after refurbishment for function, limit settings, and radio stability.

This repair applies to the following fault symptoms

  • Awning extends, but retracts only with slight manual assistance
  • Roller shutter lowers, but requires manual support to rise
  • Motor runs, hums, or responds with delay
  • Noticeable “click” noise when changing direction

    Troubleshooting Promise for Tubular Motors

Is your tubular motor no longer responding, only moving briefly, or making a typical "click" sound? Not every defect automatically means a total economic loss.

In many cases, motors can be sent in directly and repaired. In the event of unclear or borderline fault symptoms, however, I recommend a telephone pre-assessment. This allows us to estimate in advance whether a repair appears realistic or whether a total loss may be present.

After prior consultation, my Troubleshooting Promise applies: I carefully inspect the submitted tubular motor for repairability. If repair is not technically reasonable or economically viable, only the agreed troubleshooting flat rate of €35 plus any return shipping costs will be charged.

In any case, you will receive a transparent professional assessment and can then decide yourself on the next steps.

Frequently Asked Questions about Tubular Motor Diagnosis

Do I need to call before every shipment? No. Many motors can be sent in directly. However, in the case of unclear or unusual fault symptoms, a telephone consultation is recommended.

When does the Troubleshooting Promise apply? The promise applies after prior coordination if repairability is to be assessed.

What happens in the event of a total loss? If repair is not reasonable, only the troubleshooting flat rate of €25 plus any return shipping costs will be charged.

  • Einstell- & Reset-Leihkabel für Motoren

Reset tubular motor & set end positions – optional rental cable

For resetting to factory settings or re-adjusting the end positions, many 230V tubular motors may require a setting cable – especially when the reset sequence must be triggered via the circuit breaker (fuse) and the motor is not within sight or hearing range. Many drives confirm the reset with a clicking sound or a brief motor movement. With a universally applicable setting & reset rental cable, commissioning or resetting can be carried out in a more controlled manner without having to switch repeatedly between the motor and the fuse box. The rental cable is not included in this motor offer but can be ordered separately in the shop, subject to availability. Further information: View universal setting & reset rental cable
