The specialised Somfy radio motor for cassette awnings
The Somfy Sunea and Orea radio motors – available in RTS and io versions – are specifically developed for cassette awnings and counter-tension systems. They combine precise limit-stop technology with modern radio control, ensuring smooth and even movement when extending and retracting the awning.
These motors can be conveniently controlled via handheld transmitters or through smart-home systems such as Somfy TaHoma and Connexoon. In the io version, operation via smartphone or tablet is also possible, offering maximum flexibility in everyday use.
Each motor is tested, adjusted and functionally inspected in the specialist workshop – “tested” for the next season under sun, wind and weather.

This repair service applies to the following fault patterns
- Awnings extend normally but retract only with manual assistance
- Motor runs, hums or responds with delay
- Noticeable “click” when changing direction

- Shipping: Send the defective motor properly packaged (shipping costs borne by the customer).

- Return shipping: Return shipping is generally possible at standard parcel rates, provided the motor is securely packed and as compact as possible. For bulky or insufficient packaging (e.g., tube or oversized cartons), I reserve the right to charge any additional return-shipping costs separately.
Processing & shipping times
- The motor will be repaired no later than the next business day after receipt.
- Return shipping usually takes place within one further business day.
- Processing times may vary depending on platform and shipping method; exact details are provided at the time of ordering.
Important requirements
Repair only for selected Somfy models (see variant list)
No repair possible in cases of total damage (e.g., water damage, burnt windings, defective gearbox or brake, or overvoltage damage)
The motor must not have been opened or tampered with
Product safety and quality
All repairs are carried out in accordance with the relevant safety standards and ensure the proper function of the motor. Changes to the building’s electrical installation may only be performed by qualified electricians.
Service & extras
Upon request, I offer a loan cable for setting or resetting the motor. Please contact me beforehand.
Warranty
A statutory 2-year warranty applies exclusively to the installed replacement parts.
No warranty applies to the entire motor or other components.
