Simu T5S E tubular motor repair – specialist workshop for electronic roller shutter motors with obstacle & frost detection
Your Simu tubular motor says:
“I am the motor that notices when something gets stuck – thanks to my intelligent obstacle and frost detection.”
“At Thomas Reh’s workshop, I learned once again how to stop precisely and run safely – whether in winter frost or under heavy resistance.”
The electronic SIMU technology
The T5S E (ACS-E), RolTop and RolMotion motor series are among the most advanced electronic drives from SIMU – a brand of the Somfy Group. They operate with automatic limit detection and intelligent torque control. Thanks to integrated safety functions such as obstacle and frost detection, they reliably protect roller shutters and systems from damage and overload.
These motors are commonly installed in premium roller shutter systems and door control applications. As many models are no longer available new, or must remain integrated into existing control systems, a professional repair is often the most economical and sensible option.
Advantages compared to a new purchase
- Sustainable: Environmentally friendly repair instead of replacement – proven technology stays in use.
- Cost-saving: Repair is cheaper than buying new, with no system conversion or new controller required.
- Automatic limits: After refurbishment, the electronic limit detection remains intact – provided no factory reset was required.
- Reliable: Electronics are tested to ensure precise running behaviour and accurate limit detection.
- Compatible: Suitable for roller shutter systems with WT and SIMU controls as well as Somfy Group smart home environments.
- Also for RolMotion models: Repair is often possible, even when specialised parts are required. The additional effort is justified to avoid costly system conversions.
Applicable for the following fault patterns
- Roller shutter lowers normally but only rises with manual assistance
- Motor runs, hums or reacts with delay
- Significant “click” noise when changing direction
